I love Christmas trees, but making room for one can be a challenge in a small space. These Christmas tree alternatives are the perfect solution!

15 Christmas Tree Alternatives for Small Spaces

I love Christmas trees. I love the way they smell, I love going to the tree lot to pick one out, and I love decorating them.

Last year, I went home for Christmas so we ended up not getting a Christmas tree for our apartment. I still wanted to decorate though, so I rounded up a few Christmas tree alternatives. I like that most of these don’t require any floor space, just an empty wall – a big plus if you’re decorating a small space.

This year we’re hosting Christmas in Portland for both our families so we’ll definitely be getting a tree. But I still love these ideas and may have to find a corner for one of these lovely tree alternatives!

Last year, we were driving by a tree lot that had a huge pile of cuttings from Christmas trees out by the street. I made S. stop the car so I could jump out and grab a few free boughs and stuck them in a vase, inspired by these cool minimalist trees.15 Christmas Tree Alternatives for Small Spaces

I love these two rustic wall trees made with branches! They seem easy enough to pull together and you still have a place to hang ornaments or lights.

Three cool options for washi tape trees. I have so much washi tape, I may have to make one of these happen somewhere this year.

I loved this wall collection tree and decided to create my own last year. Growing up, my siblings and I each had our own mini Christmas tree for our rooms, and always got an ornament in our stockings every year (a tradition that continues today.) So I have a small collection of unique ornaments from over the years, dating back to when I was a baby.

I put my tree up on my entry wall and hung my ornaments with washi tape. Not perfect, but I was just glad to have a place to display them. I love unpacking them each year!

This is another cool idea using ornaments. The ombre effect would look great with any color. I would make this with these blue ombre ornaments.

Do you get a tree every year? Would you ever choose an alternative tree instead of (or in addition to) a real tree?
